That’s pretty impressive. If you’re considering applying, here’s what should you know first.

Of course, this number is subject to change and we strongly recommend you receive your starting rate directly from the Wegmans in which you’d like to be hired. Employees are paid weekly.

The dress code for Wegmans is a uniform shirt and casual pants. The shirt and a pair of shoes will be provided to you.

You should also know that all employees are drug tested. Not said to deter you from applying, but reports have shown that due to Wegmans high number of applications, the retailer has been known to have a 5% acceptance rate.

A rate lower than the acceptance rates of both Yale University and Princeton University. There’s no saying what the rate is for either of these local locations, but the odds will be slightly more in your favor if you apply to multiple stores.

What to Know Before Your Interview

According to 75% of Wegmans employees on, you should opt for business casual clothing (e.g. dress slacks) for your interview.

Top pieces of advice from current employees include:

  •  “Research the company and pick the things you like about it, mention it at the interview and explain why you value those things.”
  • “They love people with great personalities.”
  • “Be confident and be yourself.”

Based on 623 interviews, the average interview process length is about two weeks. Based on 670 interviews, the interview experience has been described as “favorable”. Based on 664 interviews, the interview difficulty has been rated as “medium”.

And of course, you can always ask others who have applied, accepted or not, to your choice Wegmans to get the best idea of what to expect.

Good luck and be sure to share this news with other job seekers!
