Chapel Hill’s Nostalgic College-Themed Hotel

(The Triangle Trend) — Just a short stroll from UNC Chapel Hill, you’ll spot Graduate Hotel; a contemporary blend of classic style and campus spirit. This hotel is an 8-minute walk from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and 18 miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. We know you’ll absolutely love the hotel’s lobby and “basketball court” carpet. Whether you’re a college student or simply taking a blast to the past, Graduate Chapel Hill’s got a room for you.

Their rooms offerings are:

  • Graduate King – Outfitted with one comfy king bed, a cozy sitting area with a couch, and a desk.
  • Graduate King with Balcony – Same as Graduate King but featuring views of downtown from your outdoor balcony.
  • Graduate Queen – Outfitted with two queen beds, a desk and a sitting area.
  • Graduate Queen / Queen with Balcony – Enjoy views of downtown from your outdoor balcony.
  • Junior Suites – Over-sized with a comfy king bed, corner balcony, and spacious living area.
  • Presidential Suite – Their largest accommodation.  It’s a perfect space for small groups, families, and entertaining. The spacious living room includes a dining table and a roomy sectional that pulls out into a bed. Outdoors, a private balcony stretches the length of the suite.

Every room sports its own share of gorgeous Carolina blue. Also, pets are welcome to stay with you for $25 per night. Their special semester-long rate includes meal plan options with non-contact delivery/pickup, complimentary Internet and mini-fridge, and onsite hotel security.

There’s a super friendly staff, a classy building, and an incredible location! It’s a great alternative to chain hotels. Get a room with a balcony facing Franklin Street if you can. The balcony is very large and accommodates 4 people and a table and still has plenty more space. The finishes in the room are top-notch. There is a nice size refrigerator and a safe in the room. The towels are thick and plush and the sheets are crisp, indicating a very high thread count. There is plenty of desk space and the bathroom shower is very large.

In the morning, a free cooked to order breakfast is available until 10am. The breakfast is lovely and served to you with a smile. The check-out time and breakfast hours are great for late sleepers as well as those trying to get somewhere early. There’s even a decent fitness room with cardio and free-weight equipment. There are also comfortable couches and armchairs in the atrium.

The hotel is very convenient in the center of town. Some would argue the only thing missing is a swimming pool. We could go on and on about their comfy beds and five-star touches and all, but rest assured you’ve never had a night quite like this before. In other words, they’ve done their homework.

Don’t just take it from us though. Here’s how Forbes has praised these hotels: “Graduate Hotels® is all about uncovering and unlocking local traditions and heritage and distilling that throughout the design.”

And Conde Nast Traveler has described them as “Quirky properties offering well-designed oases in college towns.”

Some fitness centers are now open with certain restrictions.  Be sure to contact the front desk for details.  For any fitness center that is closed, the staff at the front desk is happy to help find alternative arrangements for exercise during your stay

Shuttle service is suspended. The front desk can assist you with finding alternative transportation.

Topgolf Swing Suites (where available) are open by reservation only.

You can still explore the town with two wheels using one of our complimentary bicycles, based on availability. You’ll need to inquire at the front desk.

Most food and beverage outlets at Graduate Hotels are temporarily closed. For alternate dining options, ask the front desk for recommendations of restaurants within walking distance.

Cleaning for stay-over guests will be completed only upon request and when guests are not present in the room.
